Jewish Mindfulness Meditation
Mindful meditation is the process of bringing one’s attention to experiences happening in the present moment. Most of us are so busy planning for the future or regretting things that happened in our past that we forget to enjoy fully the present moment. Mindful meditation gives us the skills to train our minds to focus on what is important in the present. Some meditation practices focus on a mantra or the sounds on tape. Mindful meditation uses the breath or the body as its focus. Many people find that when they practice meditation, they are happier and less stressed.
What makes it Jewish? We will look to the Torah portion, our liturgy, and the teachings of our great Rabbis for lessons about how to meditate. Join us on Tuesday morning to experience it for yourself.
